Overall Scratch

Overall the Scratch program is interesting to use but if i found it outside of school and tyhe IST classroom i would not use it because it doesn't have any use in everyday living or social websites like facebook or myspace. it is very east to use after you understand how to move each character or sprite, even how to change costumes so it looks like they are movine and so forth. In my opinion the backgrounds are very pretty and nice but they dont really go with some of the sprites. This is because most of the sprties are cartoons and the backgrounds are usually photos of real places. although i found the program very interesting, though i do not know how to make a game using sprite.

Follow the Mouse

For this task i had to make the sprite move by following the mouse and where it is by the points that the program is given by where my mouse is at the time.

GLIDE GLIDE!

In this task, i had to make my sprite glide without using my mouse on the desktop to tell the sprite where to move by telling the computer/program the points where i want the sprite to be.

SAY SOMETHING!!

This tutorial i have made one of my sprite communicate with my other sprite. i've choseen the ghost to scream "Boo!" to the other creature .

moving animation

OK so this tutorial is letting the sprite move in a different area so to speak, because the other sprite (my bat one) only is flapping while this bird that i've done is not only flapping but moving left to right and back and so forth. i had trouble because when it bounced on the edge the bird flipped 180 degrees.

Challenge 1

Challenge 1 requires me to make a sprite go to the edge and then change directions when it hits the edge of the screen. I've personally chosen a bus with the background of the moon to make the sprite more interesting to look at =D. I hope you enjoy.

Scratch - Dance-Twist

Dance-Twist, it doesn't look that interesting, but it took me a while to find the right sound to go with the rhythm of the movement of the dancer-character. It is trail an error with the timing before you can get it right, and also this sprite character has a background. I still need to see how to add the background after making the sprite, because the only way that I know is though deleting the sprite in the beginning and adding the background when the tab " costume" changes to "background".
p.s Sprite is the name of the characters and images on the Scratch Program

Scratch - Animate It!

In this tutorial, it teaches the user to "animate" their character/image by changing the costume that the user has chosen ( usually it has most aspects the same as the original image that the user has chosen the first time).

Scratch - Move to a Beat

The original plan was just to move the character to the beat but i also have changed the colour of the character whenever the character moves. This was an interesting tutorial.

Scratch - change colour~

What i've learn from this is that i can change colours of my character by changing the number next to the words " effected by" on the purple tab in the second column.

KEY MOVES on the Scratch program

This term, we're going to learn how to use the scratch program, and our task is to learn how to move our figure character. This is the key move. I dont really understand it at the moment. Although I think it's trying to teach me that when I try to move my character i have to put in the direction it's going and how far from the position my character has to go and other features.

Computers never do what you want them to do; they only do what tou tell them to do.

STILL UNDER CONSTRUCTION
Definitions of the following;
- Algorithms: a set of rules for solving a problem in a finite number of steps, as for a finding the greatest common divisor.
- Pseudocode: a detailed and readable description of what a computer program or algorithm must do. It is used as a detailed step in the process of developing a program.
- Machine Language: a coding system built into the hardware of a computer, requiring no translation before being run.
- High Level Computer Language:
:-High Level: based on a vocabulary of English-like statements for writing a program code rather than the more abstract instructions typical of assembly language or machine language.
:- Computer Language: a programming language, as BASIC, COBOL, or FORTRAN, devised for communicating instructions to a computer.
- Flow Chart: a schematic representation of a sequence of operations, as in a manufacturing process or a compter program. Also called a flow diagram, flow sheet.

Flow Chart Symbols used for:
- Beginning and Ending a set of instructions:
they are represented as "lozenges", oval or rounded rectangles, usually containing the word 'Start' or 'End', or another phrase signalling the start or end of a process, such as "submit enquiry" or "recieve product".

Protopage~

Well we've nearly finishes our project for this term. I didn't understand why we had to do it though, and i think making a webpage was more of an interesting idea. My idea on commenting on the Plus. Minuses and Interesting facts on each device did not work. I decided to drop that idea. Also we added the idea of videos so people can watch and have a better understanding of each of the devices that we are talking about.

Protopage

Today, I only had half an hour to work on my Protopage assignment because I was an instrumental tuition and worked on my topics.
I've decided to add videos too to make my Protopage more interesting but also adding information so that people also read and understand. I've also thought about adding some pluses, minuese and interesting facts and information about each device and item.

Scrapblog

Strengths:
-Users can have fun,

Weaknesses:
- I don't see how people can write information about things on Scrap blog.
* Ariadne and Sabine of the other class have found out that 2 people cannot edit two different pages on one Scrap blog because if one person saves the page and the other person saves after the first, the first blog will be over-righted.

Rating and Recommendation: 4 out of 5
I would recommend it to people who like to make scrapbooks without all the rubbish and messy rooms. Although of this fact I don't see how people can talk about information on this web page.

Page Flakes

Strengths:
-If there's more than one user, they can all go on and edit different pages while signed in at the same time.
- Tabs are used to make it easier to find pages that a person has edited.
- Users can try it out before actually signing up to use the page.

Weaknesses:
- not very attractive in colour for users
- Hard for users to find the "add widget" button if there is any, no "add widget" button.

Rating and Recommendation: rate 2 out of 5, I wouldn't really recommend this to anyone. It looks very dull and boring and readers will loose interest.

Synopsis

What is the Purpose?
The purpose of this video was to test our skills on how to make a video. Some of these skills are not to move too much while filming the video and the audio has to be clear and loud for the audience to listen to the characters in the video. Another purpose is to see if we could edit the video on Windows Movie Maker.

Goal:
The goal of this video was to show the audience some of our interest and hobbies while we are at school. Some of the things that make us happy when we're together and how we share things while still at school. Also of all the things that girls do besides go shopping and looking in the mirror all day to check their appearance. Girls are also into soccer although if we're not as good as the boys are it's still one hobbies that we both share and have in common.

Audience:
the Audience is about from children to teenagers since it doesn't really have a purpose to adults as much, because this video is about the hobbies of some school girls the main target audience is teenagers.

Assingment doings...

Well last lesson we had our camera to start shooting.
We had alot of bloopers that were pretty funny but I guess we'll only use some of them because our video can only be about 5 minutes long. So far we've done pretty well, but our teacher said that our video has to be " how to do/ How to be" kind of video which will mean that we have to re-do our video, which is not good news for my group after we tried so hard on our first shooting.
If that is the case we might have to have another plan since we did not start on our planning board and it was all just made up things that we've done so far.

Assingment....ing?

Today my group has decided on the topic of " Why Boys Don't Understand Girls" which is a problem all girls know of.
One of our members is away on an excursion so my partner and myself decided this upon the topics of "bloopers" , "How To Play Soccer (girl)", and " Why Boys Don't Understand Girls".
Now we only have to make a story board and figure what to do since we already have our topic .

Assignment term 2

Well my Teacher has decided that our project for this term is to be in groups of 3 and produce a video. The topic can be about anything but i think he prefers us to make it about Cyberbullying, but i don't like that idea.

My group is called "GAE" and consists of my friends from my class =D no names given out to stalkers sorry (Y).

So far we havn't given any thought to what we should video yet so i hope we get it done on time (Y)>

this is asking me to make a clip with pictures and asking me to also add effect inbetween the images =D
I've decided to use Japanese Anime pictures and possibly add an audio for the background so it doesn't look boring =D
wish me luck xD

Audacity #2

Over the past few days i've edited a section of a song called
"Black is Back" for it to work on a website i had to import the file into movie maker and add random pictures so it won't be boring
i've decided to add some people who are dancing the "Melbourne Shuffle" and some other people who are also in those types of dance crews

Audacity

Audacity is a program where you can edit a song
it's like photoshopping an image
but Audacity is for audio sounds =D
well today i have started and finished
all i have to do now is to get it into windows media player and upload it to blooger o.O?

Animation #2

->Describe what software you used and why you chose it. i used both Gimp and Inkscape, this was because i wanted to use both a paint and a drawing program since one might have more of an advantage than the other at a specific step that i needed to use.
->Describe the creation process you followed.
->What image format were you saving your work in during development of the frames? i used inkscape so it was a ".png"
->What image format did you save your frames as? ".png"
->What frame rate were you aiming for?
->What is the final size of your animation? i kept changing the scale and my finale result is 250 x 353, which is pretty big.
->What difficulties did you encounter? uploading and scaling my picture i didn't know and i didn't read the instructions for that but after that i am happy that i finished my animation in time.

Animation #3

I'm finally finished now i just have to upload it
if there are any mistakes they're there on purpose
to make it look more retarded and interesting =D

Animation dairy one!

This is hard work, trying to make animated layers of frames is hard work especially when we have to make about a million frames... well not exactly one million but most of my friends know what i mean.
The House i have chosen to work on is Dobson, my Colour house!! PURPLE!! but the crest that i have is really hard to work on and the mascots that i have are really hard to work on too. I'm finding it really hard to do this assignment.

Eight of Clubs

Recreate this image of the eight of clubs using Paint. You will need to employ several techniques including; COPY, PASTE, FLIP/ROTATE, RESIZE, SELECT (TRANSPARENCY ON), IMAGE ATTRIBUTES (image should be 10x6cm)

Save your image as a 24-bit bitmap and then save it again as a monochrome bitmap.

Use Windows Explorer or My Computer to determine the file size for each file type.

Monochrome bitmap: 10.3 KB (10,622 bytes)
24-bit bitmap: 232 KB (237,654 bytes)

Why do you think there is a difference in the file size?
because monochrome is only using one colour in different shades while the 24bit picture. 24bit contains about more than 16 million colours in the picture while monochrome only has 2, black and white.

Is "Digital Art" real art?

A discussion point. “Is digital art a valid form of art?”

Well in my opinion i think digital art is a type of art. Digital art is actually harder if using basic tools on the electronic device. I mean art could be copied and replaced while if on the electronic device it wouldn't be mistaken from the artist themselves. Also isn't a photograph a piece of art? it is to most artists who are the professional person who makes these masterpieces.

What are some of the advantages that digital paint and draw programs offer over the traditional methods (canvas and paint).

Canvas and paint you can curve the paintbrush in the direction that you want it to go. but then you cannot erase it, and make perfect circles and stars and other shapes and them in different sizes. and also they can change the colour if they did not like the colour that they chose before.

What skills must a digital artist possess to create great digital art? either great angle of the object or a great imaginary mind.

Digital Media

Digital is a word we hear a lot lately. Its seems that everything is going digital…whatever that means! In this task we are going to examine exactly what is meant by digital media. All your findings should be recorded in your blog under a post heading of “Digital media”.

Use the site below as a starting point for your research;
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_media#Digital_and_analog_data

1. First off let see if we can list how many forms of digital media surround us.

-Cellphones/mobile phones
-Compact disc
-Digital video
-Digital television
-e-book
-Internet
-Minidisc
-Video game
-World Wide Web

2. What number system is digital data based on? What two digits are used to code all digital data?

Today, computing is primarily based on the binary numeral system. In this case digital refers to the discrete states of "0" and "1" for representing arbitrary data.

3. What is a bit? What is a byte?

The terms bit and byte are common in computer networking. Both terms refer to digital data transmitted over a network connection. For example, bits and bytes both may represent network addresses or port numbers.A bit is a single numeric value, either '1' or '0', that encodes a single unit of digital information. A byte is a sequence of bits; usually eight bits equal one byte.

4. What is “sampling rate”? Find an image that explains how sampling works

The transformation of an Analog signal to Digital information via an Analog-to-digital converter is called sampling. According to information theory, sampling is a reduction of information

5. How does Colour Depth or bit depth effect the appearance of an image?

As our culture becomes increasingly digitized, digital artists are leading the way in exploring and defining this new culture. Digital Artists use a medium that is nearly immaterial, that being binary information which describes the color and brightness of each individual pixel on a computer screen. Taken as a whole an image consisting of pure light is the feedback devise that tells an artist what is being made and simultaneously stored on the computer's hard drive

6. Colour depth effects both still and video digital media. Sampling rate only effects video but not still media. Can you explain.
